Overview
- Visa Category C is for people wishing to travel to Cyprus for either tourism or business.
- Citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran require a visa to travel to Cyprus
- Applications will be accepted maximum 90 days prior to the travel date.
- Third country nationals (i.e. Iranian nationals) holders of a valid Schengen visa (type: double or multiple entry), who have already entered the Schengen area in accordance with the terms upon which their Schengen visa was issued, may travel to Cyprus without a Cypriot national visa and stay in Cyprus for a period equal to the remainder of the time for which the Schengen visa is valid.
- The Cyprus visa is a national one and not a Schengen visa. Therefore, its holder does not have the right to use it for entering the Schengen zone. Holders of double and multiple Cyprus visas can visit Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania without a visa up to a time period that does not exceed 90 days.
- Holders of Iranian diplomatic and service passports do not require a visa to travel to Cyprus
- All persons who are in possession of a work permit, entry permit, permanent or a temporary residence permit issued by the Civil Registry and Migration Department of the Republic of Cyprus do not require a visa to travel to Cyprus.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
Citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran require a visa to enter and stay in Cyprus as visitors/tourists or business purposes.
An application form Application Form completed signed and submitted by the applicant in person or through an accredited Travel agent. (All the pages of form must be stamped by agencies). The application form needs to be one side printed.in person or through an accredited Travel Agency together with the following documents:
- Passport of the applicant should be valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of departure from Cyprus.
- Two recent, colored and not retouched photographs (6x4) of the applicant. (should be identical) please check photo
- Reservation of a Round trip air ticket for Cyprus. (MIN 7-10 working days before travel date and max 90 days)
- Reservation of paid accommodation in a hotel in Cyprus signed and stamped by the hotel. (Provision of a voucher) the same date with ticket. Name of the applicant must show in hotel reservation.
Medical Insurance, with the minimum coverage of 30000 euros valid for the duration of the stay in Cyprus, for all individuals irrespective of age. For multiple visas, the aforementioned insurance needs to be valid for the duration of the first trip to Cyprus. At the end of their application, the multiple visa applicants need to state – and sign – that they are aware they need to possess a travel insurance for their next entries. The following categories are excluded from submitting an insurance:
(a)Holders of diplomatic passports, (b) Family members of a citizen of the EU or the EEU area.
- Certificate of applicant's employment in English or translated into English, stating also the monthly salary, exact position/profession and starting date, accompanied by a monthly slip of the social security. Furthermore, official documents issued by the Government departments or other institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran should be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
- Recent bank account statement for six months. (issued in the past 10 days) if applicant is a house wife she can provide her husband’s bank documents.
- Copies of applicant's passport including the previous granted visas.
- Previous passport(s) of the applicant with copies of the second and third pages of passport including the granted visas. (if applicant claims that he/she lost his passport, he/she must write his/her claims in English and sign and deliver to counter at interview date)
- Copies of all pages of applicant's Birth Certificate presented along with the original. In case of new Birth Certificates then a copy of the National ID of the children along with the original document must also be submitted.
- Property owners in Cyprus need to submit also the title of their deed or the contact of sale.
- Individuals traveling to Cyprus, for business purposes, have to submit as well an invitation from the Cypriot enterprise they are visiting stating the duration, purpose and subject matter of their visit.
- For attending Conferences, and, other stay collective activities, apart from the written confirmation of attendance, in this regard, the full detailed program in English, where applicable, has to be submitted as well.
- Individuals invited to visit family members/ relatives in Cyprus are waived from the hotel accommodation requirement but they need to submit instead of this: (a) Invitation letter, (b) Copies of Passports, IDs and Birth Certificates of the persons inviting them. Finally, where it applies, (c) An Assumption of Responsibility and/ or Bank Guarantee from the persons who are inviting them.
- Persons travelling to foreign Embassies in Cyprus, for interviewing, they need to submit, also, in this regard, written proof of their interview, along with all necessary documentation justifying the purpose of their visit to the said third country. Prospective postgraduate students need to submit, also, a copy of their Bachelor's degree, duly translated in English and sealed.
REMARKS:
- The above-mentioned documents are non-exhaustive and more additional documents may be requested according to the case of each individual.
- We accept ‘Assumption of Responsibility’ exclusively from persons who resides in Cyprus and not from anyone else.
- The documents in Farsi should be translated into English by a licensed official translator by the Ministry of Justice. Furthermore, official documents issued by the Government departments or other institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran should be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
- Applicants are asked to show the original documents when they submit photocopies.
- The Consular Section reserves the right to invite applicants for a personal interview.
- Written consent of the father is also required in case of a spouse travelling alone with minors.
- Applicants should have in mind that lodging the application along with the above mentioned documents does not guarantee the issuing of a visa to enter Cyprus.
- Applicants should also bear in mind that the •Immigration Officers at the ports of entry of Cyprus have the right to refuse their landing and entrance into the country.
- No individual can apply for another person, even with notarized authorization. only agencies can deliver all the files to Cyprus visa center, other than that applicants must come in person. )families are exceptional).
- No extra document is allowed to be added to the file.
- Visa and visa center fee is not refundable after submission.
Photo Specifications
- The photograph must be in color.
- It should be without border
- It should have a light colored background only so that features are distinguishable and in contrast against the background.
- It should have a close up of your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph.
- It should be in sharp focus and clear.
- It should be of high quality with no ink marks and creases.
- The photograph must show you looking directly at the camera.
- It should be 6 cm x 4 cm.
- It should show your skin tone naturally.
- It should have appropriate brightness and contrast.
- The photograph should be a recent one not more than 3 months old.
- Photograph can be taken with headgear; the main characteristics of the face must be apparent from the photograph. Chin, nose, eyes and eyebrows must not be covered; the forehead should be uncovered to the extent that the shape of the face is apparent.
- It should be without hat/cap.
- It should be without the applicant's hair tucked behind his/her ears.
- The photograph must show facing square on to the camera, not looking over the shoulder or tilted, and showing both edges of the face clearly.
- It should be taken with uniform lighting and not show shadows or flash reflections on the face and no red eye
- If wearing glasses, the photograph must show the eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses and no tinted lenses (if possible, avoid heavy frames – lighter framed glasses to be worn). Make sure the frame does not cover any part of the eye.
- The photograph must show alone (no chair backs, toys or other people visible) looking at the camera with a neutral expression and the mouth closed.
- The photograph should not have any staple marks.
- Scanned & color photocopies would NOT be accepted.
Processing Time
- Applicants should take into consideration that the process of examining a fully completed application is At least four(7) working days.
